Grand Opening Party!

Yay! The day we have been anticipating for almost 19 years ... THE MISSION CALL. It came yesterday and was most likely the last delivery of the day for our mail person. If you look closely you will notice that someone at the post office drew a happy face on the envelope. =)

We invited Mitt Romney, and to our surprise, he came! Well ... kind of. We thought it would be funny to have him at the party for our guests to take pictures with him ... being an election year and all.

Reading the letter ... holding a piece of paper over the sentence under the one being read so that the destination is not read prematurely.

"Dear Elder Wilson,

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

You are assigned to labor in the France Paris Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months.

You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the French language."

The France Paris Mission also includes Luxembourg and Belgium. Bring on the frites, waffles and chocolate!

Grandma Wilson crying, Leanne hugging and Grandma and Grandpa Little skyping on the phone.

The perfect call:
  • Speaks French
  • Loves French food
  • Favorite school subject - European history
  • Favorite hobby - oil painting
We couldn't be more blessed!

Let the party begin ...

Mmmm! Trifle. Three different kinds.

Everyone got to predict the mission call. Lots and lots of guesses.

Aunt Wendy guessed right! She is now the official go to person when big decisions need to be made.

The best part ... well almost. We weren't quite sure why we felt prompted to purchase stand-up Mitt at the party store when we saw him. But now we know why. It was fate. Mitt Romney served his mission in France! Way to listen to the spirit!
